Property Maintenance Codes

Code Enforcement is the process local governments use to enforce state and local laws, codes, or ordinances of housing, building, or health standards. This includes monitoring property maintenance, solid waste removal, and nuisances such as accumulations of trash and debris, storage of junked or abandoned vehicles, dangerous structures, grass and weeds, and items that impact the health, safety, and welfare of the residents and visitors of the Borough of Hummelstown.  The Borough has adopted the 2019 International Property Maintenance Code (IPMC), which is used in concert with the Borough of Hummelstown Ordinances.

The Borough’s Code Enforcement Officers are responsible for evaluating, educating, and enforcing local codes.
