Public Works Department
The Public Works Department is a vital part of your government services. Consisting of four employees, they maintain all Borough streets and alleys, including street sweeping, snow removal, pothole patching, and leaf collection. The department is also responsible for maintaining the stormwater and sanitary sewer systems (sewer lines and pumping stations) and public recreation facilities. During the summer, they maintain Borough Parks and facilities, streets, storm and solid waste sewers. In the fall, they pick up leaves, and in the winter, they keep our roadways clear of ice and snow. This is just a small list of all of the things that they do. If we were without their services for just a few days, we would see their impact on our community.
Next time you see them out and about, say "Hi" and express your appreciation for what they do for you.
A vast array of maintenance equipment to perform these tasks can be found at the public works garage on North Duke Street.
